And so, here we are.
The Top 5 Things I Am Looking Forward to This Spring/Summer (because I cannot watch one more show on Soapnet)
5. Running through the beautiful concrete jungle that is my city.

I can only take so much time on the dreadmill, so I am hoping that the weather turns soon, and my training can take place outdoors. Indy Mini-Marathon, here I come!
4. This one coincides with #5, but - lots of street festivals and FOOD! Summer always seems to be the ideal time to explore new restaurants, or take advantage of weekly street festivals. Perhaps I will find another peanut butter and chocolate waffle with hazelnuts and BACON like I did this week?

3. The New Kids on the Block / Backstreet Boys concert. Don't judge.

2. An upcoming visit from THESE amazing ladies!

Do you know Ashley and Neely? If not, you should! I simply cannot wait to meet them and show them all Chicago has to offer!
1.) Upcoming trips! Over spring break, the hubs and I are going to:
AUSTIN!

And this summer, we're taking a ROAD TRIP! The hubs is standing up in a wedding in New York, so we're driving out and hitting up Philadelphia, Washington, D.C. and NYC! I've been to the last two, but the hubs hasn't been at all, so I am excited to show him the ropes:)

(Photos taken by me on my last trip - Summer 2009)
What are you looking forward to this summer???
I feel like this is now an onrunning joke in blog world...that pic of Ashley, Fake Linds and I ends up on a blog EVERYDAY! And I kind of love it! Cant wait to visit you loveeee and I hope you feel better sooooon!!! Hope hubs is taking care of you :)

I played along today!! :-) I canNOT wait for summer either. I can't wait to run outside and enjoy the weather. You trip to NYC sounds like TOOOO much fun! Wow, I would be SO excited for that!! Happy Friday Eve :-)
ReplyDeleteDREADmill HAHA that is the funniest thing I've heard all day. Your upcoming trips sound like SO much fun!! Jealous!
ReplyDeleteI am excited for the #5 as well..running on the lake. I live on LSD, and I just want to run without freezing my butt off! I am also looking forward to starting a new chapter by moving 3 times in the next year, starting this summer. I need to become and expert organizer/packer by then.
ReplyDeleteenjoy your visits and i so want to visit austin one day!!!!
ReplyDeleteps - nyc? yay! let me know when you will be here.
Yay! I can't wait to visit you! This summer is gonna be amazing! Hope you feel better soon, my dear!
ReplyDeleteNeels and I were laughing about that picture last night, and I busted when I saw it just now! Too funny!
that waffle looks AMAZING. and your posts only make me want to go to Chicago more. And being a 100% born and raised Jersey girl, I feel it is my duty to inform you that the Statue of Liberty is in New Jersey and NOT New York contrary to popular belief. NYC, while one of my favorite places in the world, likes to steal our thunder a little too much, and it is my lifetime goal to change that and make NJ an entity all unto itself.
ReplyDelete(And did you know the "NY" Giants and the "NY" Jets both play in New Jersey? Just sayin')
Okay sermon over. Happy Thursday! :)
hope you feel better soon...(i say through my drinking box of OJ a mound of nasty kleenex on my desk at work.)
ReplyDeletei am going to NKOTBSB it this summer too!
Three of my favorite cities, for sure. What a great road trip!
ReplyDeleteI'm JEALOUS of the NKOTBSB concert!! The 12 year old girl in me just freaked out a little. ;)
haha!
ReplyDelete1. i LOVED reading your comment
2. i would NEVER judge a fellow BSB/NKB fan! so JEALOUS! post pictures... its a must!
3. Love your blog :)
I have four words for you...Please don't go girrrrrrrrrrrl!
ReplyDeleteI too cannont wait for a beautiful run outside - without ten thousand layers and the fear of slipping on ice.
ReplyDeleteAnd a roadtrip is awesome - I am slightly jealous that you have summers off, that would be so amazing to me!
If you're in DC and have a bit of free time I'd love to grab a coffee or bite to eat - my office is very close to the White House! Traveling is time consuming though - so no need to feel obligated!
I ADORE Chicago in the summer. So much. So jealous that you get to live there.
ReplyDeleteOh. My. God. I am so jealous you get to go to the BSB/NKOTB concert!!
ReplyDeleteOh I love Austin and DC!!! Those are going to be some great trips! And that food....yum!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for my summer break! I will lay out by the pool all day long! I'm glad y'all are coming to Austin...it's the greatest city in my opinion ;) I'm dying to go to NYC...one day!
ReplyDeleteAwww, sorry you're feeling crappy! That's no fun at all. It sounds like you've got an awesome summer planned, though...I'm coming to the midwest this summer!!! The future MIL and sisters in law are throwing me a bridal shower in South Bend and I plan to take full advantage of our close proximity to Chicago :)
ReplyDeleteYay for travelling! I really haven't thought about spring/summer other than WARMTH. It's been too cold this winter!
ReplyDeleteYou little minx! I can't believe you get to go to Backstreet Boys this year! That was my sis and my favorite band ever growing up!
ReplyDeleteChad and I are seriously considering Austin this summer. I've heard it's a really cool city, and we've never gone to Texas before. Am glad that you are going before me so that you can find all the good places to go and things to see there! :)
just came across your blog :) ohmygosh its so cute! im looking forward to my trip to europe and jamaica!
ReplyDeleteFUN! Summer seems like lightyears away at this point, but I cannot wait to sleep in a little, exercise more, READ NOVELS (isn't it so hard to read novels during the school year when you're a teacher?), and travel some. I always go to Georgia once in the summer; this time it will be mid-July for my cousin's wedding. Maybe some other little trips, too! Like perhaps Vegas or Tahoe in August since I TURN 30 ON AUGUST 16th--OMFG.
ReplyDeleteBut before that, there's Spring Break in New York! Lots of my friends live there now, so I'll be happily hopping around between some grad school friends, my dear old bestie Anthony, Summer (!), et al. I wish I could travel all the time!
