All You Need is Love - Day 6!

In my two + years of blogging, I have never, EVER blogged on a Saturday.  Seriously, I so need to thank Neely, Sam and Courtney for getting my lazy butt onto the interwebs consistently!

Today's Prompt?  I love to blog because...


Where do I even begin?  I started this blog as a simple little hobby.  I wanted a creative outlet.  I've always loved to write, and blogging seemed like the perfect opportunity.  For months, I just wrote whenever I felt like it, and the only person who read it was my friend Christy.  Then I discovered a few other blogs, and that number grew exponentially over the coming years.  I had no idea what would transpire.  I never expected...


...that I would "meet" so many inspirational women.  Seriously.  There are so many other bloggers who inspire me with their creativity and passion.   From photography to crafting, the talent out there is unreal!


...that I would learn how to mail packages:)  This seems really odd, I suppose, but participating in swaps and giveaways has made me a US Postal Service GODDESS!

...that my "real life" friends and colleagues would be so supportive of my blogging endeavors.  I get really embarrassed when people bring up my blog, especially at work, because I know that I am really "putting myself out there", but the support has been overwhelming.


...that anyone would actually find what I have to say interesting.

...that I would develop such incredible friendships and bonds with women all over the world.  It's amazing, and I am so so so grateful for the relationships I have formed.  I mean, when I was in a car accident on Tuesday morning, the first text I received, asking if I was ok, was from THIS girl.  I feel very blessed to have "met" such incredible women.

    Aww shout out! love it! No but for seriously I totes agree I am awestruck daily at the friendships Ive made...including yours friend! I cant wait to come to Chicago this summer and play!

    This is so sweet and I feel the exact same way. I've only been blogging for just over a year, and I am SO lucky to have made such deep friendships and to have met two of my darlings in person! I never would have expected that all this would have come out of blogging, but it's been such a blessing!

    Oh God.. A Mac... Hi, I'm Sam, and I'm still living in the past with my Dell laptop... {Hi Sam} :p.
    I've been flirting with the idea of a Mac for two laptops now, and still have yet to grow a pair and buy one.. I'm scared, lol... Was it hard to learn how to use?

    Okay, I'm SO glad I'm not the only one who is all "blog? me? no way *blush*" when people bring it up. I definitely don't want my real life folks knowing that I have one, or if they do, where it is. I need this place to be 100% me, the good and the bad, and sometimes, that involves complaining about the people I love.. And while I think everyone needs to vent sometimes, I don't think the people I vent about need to know that I'm doing it, or what I'm saying. But I'm so glad your "real life-ers" have been supportive of it! I think mine would raise an eyebrow, lol!

    The relationships and "outlet" aspect were my favorites about blogging :) I'm on a sabbatical (just hit about 5 months, no blog) because I'd been blogging for something like 6 years and needed a pause to re-evaluate (and focus on my final year of law school). But I think I'll be back :)

    Haven't commented in FOREVER because my phone hates Blogger, but I've been reading!!

    love that you also live in chcicago woohoO! i def love to blog because it gives me an opportunity to connect to people that i never would have the chance to- it has me make friendships, and feel a part of a community. i also love all the great ideas/ recipes and comments :)

    The learning how to use the postal system is a good reason for blogging. I didn't think about blog swaps when I made my list, but I guess I would have to credit it for making me more productive. On days where I have to mail the blog swap package I'll just go ahead and get all my other errands done since I am stopping on the way home from work or heading out anyways.
