32 Week "Bump Date" - Almost There!

Hi everyone!  Can you believe it?  32 weeks!  According to some sources, that can be equated to eight months (It's so funny how different websites say different things about the timing of pregnancy).  In all honesty, while pregnancy seems to drag on, especially towards the end, I have to admit that when I think about when Mike and I first discovered that we were going to become parents, it seems like only yesterday:)

So, with approximately 55 days to go, here's where we're at!

I am currently:  32 weeks and 2 days

The baby is the size of:  a jicama!  I have no idea what that is!  :)  She's approximately 3.75 pounds and 16.75 inches!

(I am pretty sure my baby is cuter than this jicama...)

Anything new this week? We have our 32 week appointment this week, which I am really excited about.  After this appointment, I now have to visit the doctor every 2 weeks.  After 36 weeks, it's every week!  WOOHOO!  Also, my first baby shower is coming up in a few weeks as well, and I scored a super cute dress from the ASOS maternity line - I can't wait to wear it!

Maternity clothes? Yes!  This past weekend, Old Navy had a major maternity sale.  I was able to score some new jeans and a few tops.  At this point, I should have enough to last me through the next 50-some days so I won't have to shop again:)

Stretch marks? (Same answer as last update!) Nope.  There are days when I think I see them, but then I realize it's lines from my clothes.  Although, can I be honest here?  If I get them, then so be it.  It's not like I walk around without a shirt on, and I certainly don't wear swimsuits enough.  Besides, it's human nature (and they are hereditary anyway).  I think there's more important things in life to freak out about:)

Movement?  YES!  Apparently, at this stage of the pregnancy, the baby is so much bigger that there is less "cushion" from the amniotic fluid.  So, it's normal to feel MUCH more movement, which I love:)  However, it's less kicking and more rolling and flipping over, so the sensation is just different.

Outside of our fitness center.  I am no longer running, but decided to do some incline walking.  Holy bladder, Batman!  This little girl was stomping all over it!  Also, I still feel like I'm carrying pretty low...

Before Bar Method.  I am still going to class a few times a week, but with my crazy work schedule, I'm just getting more and more tired.  And less motivated:)

Food cravings? Not really.  Now that I am back in school, I am maintaining a normal eating schedule.  Plus, our "Salad Club" has resumed at work, so it feels good to have a big, healthy lunch each day.

General symptoms? While I still think I've been very lucky to have a "physically easy" pregnancy, I am having trouble sleeping at night.  I attribute part of this to general stress, but keeping my hips comfortable is usually the culprit.  Also, I am HOT (I know, right?  Kidding...) ALL OF THE TIME.  Seriously, our bedroom is 68 degrees and I still sweat.

Workouts?  They have decreased, but this is due to my work schedule more than anything.  I usually try to attend two or three Bar Method classes/week, plus incorporate some walking.  My goal for the next few weeks is to attend a pre-natal yoga class (I really need this more for my mind than anything!) before we move out of the city.  Any suggestions for places in Chicago?

Gender prediction?  (Same answer as 4 weeks ago!) We know for sure that the baby is a little girl:)  And, I am happy to say we've narrowed the "name" list down to three!

We're so excited to meet our little lady in less than two months!

  6. Incline walking is TOUGH! That was actually my main form of cardio before I got into running, and I still like it to change things up from time to time, or if my legs are too sore to run. I'm impressed by how much you're still working out this far into your pregnancy - that's so awesome!

  11. Meghan! While I've just gotten back to blogging, I've been following your Instagram since you announced your pregnancy and am SO EXCITED for you and your husband! 12. Aww you are so cute with your little bump (although it isn't so little)! I love it! I loved when the movements went from little flutter kicks to huge jabs and rolls. For me, I like to call the movements "Get me outta here kicks, jabs and rolls" Only seems appropriate. I'm excited to see your ASOS dress. They have such cute maternity stuff! Glad you were able to snag some nice stuff on sale. Gap and Old Navy sales are the best times to stock up. Now I can't help but oogle over the baby stuff since our little nugget will be here soon!

Kudos to you for continuing to stay as active as you can while pregnant. Once I stopped running, I kind of lost the drive for the whole physical activity thing. I do walk about 1 mile to and 1 mile from work every day, so I am counting that as my exercise. Plus, I sometimes take the stairs at work (which totally counts).

    You are looking great!
