Top 5 Thursdays - Celebrity Crushes

I typically do not remember my dreams. I also am a very restless sleeper. So, it's not very often that I have a vivid dream in which I can recall the details the next day. However, a few nights back, I had a dream...

There was a man. He was a tall drink of water, that's for sure. And he really wanted to meet me. He stalked me at Jewel. At the gym. He BEGGED to take me out on a date. I told him that I was married, and that these requests were inappropriate. Yet, he was so persistent.  However, I had to turn him down, as I am madly in love with my husband.  Who was he?  Well...

Jon Hamm.  "Mad Men" is one of my favorite shows and I just adore Don Draper, as tragic as he is.  Any woman would be crazy to turn this guy down, no?  However, this dream spawned yet another top 5 list...

My Top 5 Celebrity Crushes
(Note: These crushes span my entire childhood AND adulthood...)

5.) Donnie Wahlberg (2nd/3rd grade)

donnie1

Sure, he was all "hard core Boston", but I just loved his bad-boy attitude. I also felt a little sorry for him, as Jordan got much of the attention and many of the leads. But Donnie made his mark with "Cover Girl", and as a second/third grader, I always pretended he was singing to me and my poorly permed hair.

4.) Jonathan Brandis (7th/8th grade)

jonathan-brandis

This one is a bit sad, as JB is no longer with us today. Yet he consumed my junior-high days with hits such as "Ladybugs" (does ANYONE remember that movie???) But my crush was solidified by watching the Sunday night NBC drama "Seaquest DSV", which today, I would refer to as a "poor man's Lost". Sci-fi usually isn't my thing, but he was just so damn cute!

3.) Joshua Jackson (High school/college)

Oh, Pacey Witter. He was a slacker with a heart of gold, yet his oratory skills rivaled those of some of our politicians today. Was anyone else always floored by the incredible vocabulary used on "Dawson's Creek"?

2.) Christian Bale.

I think it's really more of his talent that draws me in, but yeah.  He's damn fine, too.

1.) Jon Hamm. See above.

As stated, I love "Mad Men". And when I went to see "The Town", I am pretty sure I cheered everytime he graced the screen.  Le sigh.

So, who are you crushing on these days?  Or, who DID you crush on back in the day?  If you need something to blog about, feel free to link up!

P.S.  I participated in Micaela's "Wanting to Know You Wednesday" and discussed my trip to Europe.  Check it out!

  4. AHHHHHH Joshua Jackson is STILL on my list and still makes my heart flutter. I used to call that show "Pacey's Creek" and I would get literally angry when he'd make out with Joey or his teacher or whatever because I was so terribly jealous. I was seriously *moved* by him; it was kind of freakish and obsessive.

I really want to do this one, too. :)

  7. Love this post!

Mine, in order of the earliest crush: Jonathon Knight (I also did not like the attention given to Jordan), Mike Vitar (quack, quack, FLYING V!), Brad Pitt (the original hottie vampire), Jakob Dylan.

Once I fell in love with the rockers (Gavin, Jakob, Evan Dando) it was all over for me. Actors couldn't compete.

I find it really hard to take Joe Hamm seriously after he was in 30 Rock... though I haven't seen Mad Men so maybe that would change if I did...

    1) Justin Timberlake
    2) Seth Rogen
    3) The Rock (yes, I know)
    4) Don Draper (not Jon Hamm. For some reason they're not the same)
    5) Dave Grohl

    SO random right?

I loved Mr. Brandis. Ladybugs is a favorite of mine. I saw it with some of my girlfriends when it came out in the theater. I'd rather not say how long ago that was. We giggled the WHOLE TIME!

  37. Any woman would be crazy to turn this guy down, no?

Unless I'm into one-night stands, I'm not stupid enough to want a relationship with Don Draper.
