Top 5 Thursday...Umm, Friday!

Last night, I went to see my sassy little sister sing and dance in her high school variety show. And she was amazing. She's so full of energy and spunk that you can't miss her on a stage of fifty teenagers. (Plus, her beautiful long red hair helps, too - she totally got the good hair genes in the fam!) Anyway, she's incredible and I just love her to pieces. Little Miss Molly has inspired this week's top 5 list as a result...

Top 5 Songs That Fire You Up!

Everyone's done it - heard that certain song on the radio driving home from work and had their own little dance party. Or, perhaps you've heard the song while working out, only to try and run AND dance on the treadmill at the same time. (Please tell me I'm not the only one here, people!) Maybe you've been sitting in a local watering hole, heard that certain song, and jumped up out of your seat to dance, even though it's not THAT kind of place. Any takers?

Well, I am guilty of all of the above. And what's caused me to act the fool in public?

5.) "Tiny Dancer" by Elton John

It may not be your "get up and dance" type of song, but it's certainly caused me to sing at the top of my lungs in the privacy of my own car. It's also started a sing-a-long among friends, a la "Almost Famous".

4.) "Volcano Girls" by Veruca Salt

This totally gets me moving when working out. I love the feisty girl rock bands of the 90's!

3.) "Your Love" by The Outfield

Every list needs a good 80's song, in my opinion!

2.) "How Will I Know" by Whitney Houston

This one is definitely the song that sparked the dance/run hybrid move on a treadmill. I believe I once sang this to a cab driver as well.

1.) "Africa" by Toto

I really have no explanation to why I love this song so much. It's created several impromptu dance parties, including the ones seen below. The first was take over a year ago while out with friends, and the second was at my wedding. Somehow, Toto had the power to cultivate some sibling bonding in the middle of the dance floor...
