Pumpin' Fists for Facelifts and Free Gifts!

Happy Monday y'all! I hope everyone's week is off to a fantastic start. I know mine is - I am really, really excited about some things going on at work, a new work-out routine, season one of "Glee" arriving on DVD, and this little old bloggity-blog:)

As you can tell from the title of this post, I am fist-pumpin' with my inner Pauly D because I am excited about my new facelift! After trying to find my little niche as a blogger, I was ready for some changes, and I have my friend Lisa to thank for this amazing design. Lisa Grass-Schultz happens to be a friend of my husband's, and is one of the friendliest, most sincere ladies I have ever met. When I saw her amazing wedding invitations this summer (they were CONCERT TICKETS - how awesome is that?!?!?), I figured Lisa would be a great person to approach when it came time to give this little blog a new look. Lisa certainly delivered. She is amazing and I am so honored to call her a friend. And I am really grateful that my husband and I have found another couple who likes to eat as much as we do! (P.S. Lisa does a lot of freelance work when she's not busy designing for this company here. Shoot me an e-mail if you are interested in the 411).

I don't mean to get all weepy on you, but blogging has truly been an inspiration for me. I am constantly amazed at all of the talent that exists in this little universe. I am so grateful that I have come across some incredible women - women who make the world a little brighter with their beautiful photography, women who speak their mind, women who create lovely little objects, women who are supportive and give great advice, women who are kind and generous and keep this community going, women who make me laugh and who share stories that make me cry...if you think about it, bloggers are pretty lucky folks:) One woman I am particularly grateful to have met (i.e. e-mailed with and read about) is Gaia at Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. From fashion to food, Gaia celebrates the beauty in her amazing Italian adventures. (Umm, Gaia, did I mention I am going to Italy this summer?!?) Anyway, she has graciously offered to host my very first giveaway, and I am SO excited. Why? Because when she said she wanted to create something and I found out IT WAS A HEADBAND, I about died. I love headbands and I would venture a guess that I have worn one every day for the past six months (minus my wedding day). I think headbands are such a fun way to sass up an outfit (one of my friends calls this the "subtle eff you" - you know, red shoes with a black dress, etc). I love it.

SO - all rambling aside, Gaia is offering one of her homemade headbands up as my first giveaway prize! (Did I mention how talented she is? Did I mention that I once tried to make a headband, burned myself on the glue gun, and MY HUSBAND had to finish it for me? What would I do without her?!?) Check out these beauties:

  2. It looks incredible!

My husband left me 30 notes all around the house for my 30th bday yesterday, that makes me smile all day long. Especially the note that read "you make every house we've had a home". That definitely made me feel like I was doing my job right:)

Seriously, something that makes me smile - I received an unexpected email from an old friend I haven't talked to in about 2 years. I would have to say not only did it make me smile, it pretty much restored my faith in a lot of people.

Another things was your latest post about the wedding shower, made me remember my own, maybe it didn't make me smile as much as it made me laugh thinking about the stripper my friends had hired, he couldn't dance and he wasn't good looking, but it was hilarious...
