1.) The Slow Readers Book Club.
If it wasn't for the lovely Megan at Time After Tea, I never would have read about the awesome idea for the Slow Readers Book Club. This lead me to the blog of the wonderful Diana at our city lights. What a fantastic idea - it's an opportunity to read and discuss books with other bloggers, and to enjoy those few moments we have each day to pick up the book. I love to read, but during the school year, it becomes difficult with the lesson planning and grading and what not. So to be a part of a project with a somewhat extended timeframe is right up my alley. AND, I just ordered the first book off Amazon, along with several others that bloggers have recommended, so I am READY TO GO!
2.) Pomplamoose
I recently discovered Pomplamoose. Apparently its a husband and wife team who are slowly becoming famous for covering songs and creating YouTube videos. I just think they are super adorable and they always put a smile on my face. Wait until you see the guy's grandmother dancing - she's precious. Definitely check them out - their version of "Single Ladies" is incredible!
3.) Sushi
I bet I can count the number of times in my life I've had sushi on two hands. That being said, I've recently discovered that I LOVE it and I can pretty much handle all kinds of sushi. With the guidance of a few friends, I've found several amazing sushi places that deliver and I am obsessed. Now if I could only get Starbucks to deliver...
4.) Trivia Games
Over the past few days, I've played Trivial Pursuit and attended a pub quiz night, where my team placed second! We only lost by four points, and we definitely could have won, had we not changed an answer at the last minute. It was a blast. I'm not sure if I should be proud of this fact, but I was the only person in attendance who was able to correctly answer this question:
"What was the name of the short-lived reality series that starred composer David Foster and his stepsons, Brody and Brandon Jenner?"
(Do you know it too??? Feel free to leave your answer in the comments section. I love me some Brody Jenner.)
What about you??? What has made you happy this week???
The Slow Reader's Book Club sounds genius! I am considering joining as well...
ReplyDeleteMy god, I love sushi, and I don't even like seafood. Seriously. When I first started eating, I shied away from all the raw stuff, but then I discovered... WASABI. I love wasabi. I could eat it forever. It was actually wasabi that made me okay with sushi/sashimi. Now I can eat any type of raw fish!
What would make me happy this week if I could go to that all-you-can-eat sushi place before going back to school!
i love the book club idea, that sounds right up my ally.
ReplyDeletethe answer to your questions...the princes of bel air?? can you say, too much reality tv?!
