Our Sweet Pup.

I wasn't expecting to write this post, but yesterday, my family lost our sweet yellow lab, Maggie.  She was 13 years old and had been sick for quite some time, so the decision was made to end her suffering.  It was a very peaceful process.

When Maggie entered our family 13 years ago, I don't think anyone expected how she would change our lives.  We never had pets growing up, and Maggie just melted all of our hearts.   As a puppy, I remember that she was SO tiny that she was able to fit under the couch and sleep:)  She's been there for my parents and my three siblings day in and day out, and her sheer presence could cheer anybody up instantly.  And just like we never anticipated how much we could love her, we never anticipated how hard it would be for her to leave us:(

  6. I'm so sorry, Meghan :( Maggie looks so sweet and happy in the pictures. My pups are the first dogs I've ever had, so although I completely understand how much you can love a dog and how big a part of your life they become, I have no idea how hard this must be.

  7. Aww, that is so sad. Our family dog died a few years ago, three days before I left for the Peace Corps. I think I cried every night for an entire month. It is the saddest thing ever. It made me not want another dog - for a week. I now have a dog and my parents have two!

  8. Meghan, What a beautiful tribute to your loving dog Maggie. She will always be in your hearts. My prayers go to your whole family at this sad time. Dogs do change your life for the best and Mags knew you all loved her so very much. Just remember the Rainbow bridge you will meet again. Hugs, from Tim's Mom, Rene'
