My goals for this particular week were to:
* Visit the Lincoln Park studio (BBF has three locations: LP, River North and Gold Coast) - SUCCESS! I really loved the space (all of the studios are super cute & colorful), and I found the parking situation on Clybourn to be really easy. I attended a Barre Bee class (their signature class) and LOVED it. My abs were ROCKED.
* Test my original goal of holding a plank for 3 minutes. See below for progress!
Also, I have to say that my other initial goals of "feeling great in a swimsuit" and "fill up my water bottle several times a day" are definitely moving along quite nicely, too! I am going swimsuit shopping for Hawaii this weekend. As much as I am sure you'd all love to see the final product, I am not quite sure how I feel about posting pics of me in a two-piece on this blog... :)
Moving on. My workout schedule this week was much better!
The one thing that I love about taking so many classes is that they are NEVER the same. I was a pretty big Bar Method advocate before all of this, and while it was a great workout, each class was the same. It was common in a BM class to see women moving on to the next exercise before the instructor. So, the variety in BBF classes is definitely a plus for me. I really think it's kept me from missing running so much.
I think the Instagram challenge is where I slacked this week. My only excuse is that some days, I simply forgot.
A delicious meal: Chinese take-out and malbec. Not necessarily healthy, but it was well-deserved.

Me, holding my best c-curve. This position is a common BBF ab move, and while it may not appear challenging, your abs will be shaking after 30 seconds!

Something I am thankful for: My job as a teacher. I don't think I need to elaborate here.

A gift I am excited to give. Does my heart count???
Something I did to reach my goals. Tested out the plank! I really believe I could have held it longer, but I was pretty pleased with this.
Have you been doing anything to stay healthy this holiday season???
I stay healthy by running and using the spin bikes. After the holidays we will get back in the pool too!
ReplyDeleteLove your desk, you have such cute things on it!
I'm really interested in hearing more about the barre classes! They sound amazing. I do yoga five times a week. We do A LOT OF planks. But I don't think i could hold one for three minutes.
ReplyDeleteWoohoo! Great job on your challenge! Great plank girl, you are doing it! 3 minutes will come in no time!
ReplyDeleteYou're such a rockstar!
ReplyDeletei have been OPPOSITE of this. its bad but you are an inspiration!!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats Meghan! You're doing so awesome on these BBF Challenges! I have that same Target desk set at my desk. All I need is that water bottle. Where is it from? And I love the Hot Chocolate Sweatshirt. I want one. I wish they'd come down here.
ReplyDeleteYour posts always get me feeling so energized and happy, Meghan! Congrats on doing so well on all of these goals! You're amazing!
