Hey, It's OK...Indy Style!

Even though I've been the biggest blog slacker ever in life, I decided to roll my "weekend recap" post into Neely and Amber's weekly link-up!  Wrapping up another school year is never easy, and I was out of town last weekend.  My friends and I have a tradition of heading down to Indianapolis to run the OneAmerican 500 Festival Mini-Marathon.  So here it is, "It's OK...Indy Style"!

Hey, It's OK...

Its Ok Thursdays

..to cry tears of JOY when you can run again.  And run slow.  Like, the slowest 5K of my life.  But it's ok - kids, I am BACK!

(Here's the deal.  There is NOTHING wrong with me, apparently.  I don't have a fracture.  My bone scan was normal.  My vitamin D analysis was normal.  So my leg pain?  So far, it's a mystery!  Despite her earlier decision that I did NOT need physical therapy, my doctor decided it couldn't hurt, so I can return to running slowly, visit the PT and will probably get a gait analysis at some point too!

UPDATE:  I met with the physical therapist.  Apparently, running last weekend was a huge mistake.  I am sore.  Both the PT and doctor said I MUST MUST MUST follow this return to running program religiously.  So, I'll be run/walking for the next four weeks...)

...to steal ice from Subway to ice your legs after only 3 miles, because while you're excited, you're also paranoid of getting re-injured.

...to fully subscribe to the following mantra:

...to get SUPER excited that the weather in Indianapolis is 20 degrees warmer than Chicago AND you get to wear your favorite dress from Paris!

...to sit outside and enjoy ice cold beers!

...to think it's funny to smash the head of Kurt Vonnegut.

How is your week?  What is OK in your book?  Tell me what's up!
