Yet one thing that is getting a little stale is my playlist. I've been experimenting with running with AND without music, and given the distance and time of day, I've found that I actually prefer running without music.
However, I am most definitely going to need my iPod on Saturday, and I am looking to YOU for suggestions! My playlist is quite eclectic, from Toto to "Glee", from Britney to Hall & Oates. And while these songs still fire me up, I need a change. And so I am looking to YOU, dear readers, to help me out. I'll share some of the songs that fire ME up, if you'll do the same!
My Top 5 Work-Out Songs
5.) "Stronger" by Britney Spears
4.) "Ready to Go" by Republica
3.) "Feelin' Stronger Everyday" by Chicago
2.) "Born This Way" by Lady Gaga
1.) "1901" by Phoenix

What songs fire YOU up? Link up and play along!
Good choices. I actually prefer running without music too, which is funny because I love listening to music almost any other time.
ReplyDeleteWell, I actually prefer to watch E! News while I work out!
ReplyDeleteAwesome choices! I pretty much love anything by Britney Spears to work out to!
ReplyDeleteGirl! I so love the songs you chose...cant wait til you see mine hehe. So proud of you! Im running another half in December :)
ReplyDeleteWhenever I'm feeling like I can't go any further and Katy Perry's "Firework" comes on, I am ready to go! :)
ReplyDeleteGood luck this weekend!
Love that we both have "Stronger" by Britney on our lists!! Remember that music video?? Ahh, so cool :-) Happy running this weekend!!!
ReplyDeleteGood Luck Meghan!
ReplyDeleteI always find more pep in my step when I listen to Michael Jackson or the Strokes.
I am pretty much a hip hop only girl when it comes to working out! I can't stand anything slow paced because it makes me slow down. Fast beats make me faster, haha! Gonna try to work on this today even though I can't access youtube at work. Ugh!
ReplyDeletei agree with krysten. anything by britney gets my butt moving!
ReplyDeleteAnything upbeat helps me!
ReplyDelete#5 gets me pumped up too!
ReplyDeleteHope you do well this weekend!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you like a good mix. I suggest: Boston, Sleigh Bells, Little Boots, and The Rolling Stones.
Good for you!! I'm training for my first half....so I'm a little nervous about that....but thank you for helping me believe that I might actually be able to do this! :) Good luck!

Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites by Skrillex for sure!! have a great run!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it funny how songs can just make your entire run? If I have a few good ones on, I won't stop running until they're over. I know, I'm a little crazy like that ;-)
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday Dear! xo
Good luck this weekend and kudos to year on your 3rd half-marathon! That is such an accomplishment. For tunes, Britney and Lady Gaga always pump me up.
ReplyDeleteP.S. When I was on the cruise, the Yacht Rock Revue did a cover of Africa by Toto and I thought of you :)
Sorry this is late! Good luck today. You are going to have an awesome time.
ReplyDeleteI find that with longer runs I actually do better with out music because I can focus on getting over the mental mountains better. However, there is only one playlist that works for me. GIRL TALK! The beat never slows down like it does in normal songs, which start and end slower. You must get the new album and try it!
Cheers!
Oooh I am so late on this. I hope it went well!!!
ReplyDeletecongrats on another half! i think it is so funny that you can run to "born this way." there is something about that song where i can't stand still but i also can't do the same thing for the entire song. i shall try listening to it when i work out...
ReplyDeletethree half marathons?? that's phenomenal! :)
ReplyDeletei am constantly in awe of you and your long distance running! it's a goal of mine to one day do. I am getting back to running and so i'm glad you posted these songs because i can only listen to MJ so many times ;)
ReplyDeleteps. we should do a workout cd swap! oh and i wanted to THANK YOU for sharing your GORGEOUS wedding photo! (i can't get over your bouquet --among other things-- and it reminds me of mine)
