***Today's guest blogger is Neely, from A Complete Waste of Makeup. Many of you know that Neely and Ashley are coming to Chicago in a few weeks and I cannot wait! It's funny how friendships develop through blogging, and I am so blessed to have both Neely and Ashley in my life. Neely and I are true kindred spirits, and it's almost scary how much we have in common. Therefore, I know you will love her - so be sure to check out her blog!
Hey Meghan's blog readers! Im Neely and I write over at A Complete Waste of Makeup. I Also write on Wednesdays for My Twenties Blog and I tweet a lot.
A little about me....I love to work out, especially run, I love to drink Starbucks lattes, and wine. I love to read, watch bad reality TV, spend time with my best friends and love on my boyfriend, Chad who I have been dating for nearly two years. I also have a pretty rockin family. I am currently in grad school and I will finish with my Masters in Elementary Education in December :)

Today Im going to talk about meeting people online. Both in blogging and in dating. Chad and I met on match.com in June of 2009. We officially had our first date on July 6th 2009 because we talked, emailed and texted for nearly 4 weeks before. By the time we met it was like we'd known each other for years. My parents were a bit skeptical of this. I had met guys on match.com before and even dated a few but I think I had it in my head that all guys from match were tools and assholes. Thankfully Chad was not. He was different and from the beginning our relationship was a special one. I stopped thinking about the fact that we met online and no one finds it weird. I know a lot of people are a little squeamish about meeting guys online but if you are single, tired of the bar scene and work in an all women field I'm here to tell you to give it a chance :)

Then I started blogging in December of 2009 and never thought I would actually make friends from blogging! In February I started talking with Erin. We became fast friends and I have been lucky enough to be a part of a few recent big events in her life. She called me the day she found out she was pregnant, I was at her baby shower and I'm about to go to her little boys Baptism. I have met over 20 other bloggers. I have gone to a blogging conference where I didn't know a single person. I have had a blog friend stay with me for a weekend (twice) and in a few weeks I will be boarding a plane with that same blog friend to go to Chicago and visit MEGHAN!
See meeting on the internet is totes not weird ;-)
Match.com and blogging are two things that have changed my life for the absolute better so I can say without any hesitation...the internet is a pretty neat place :)
Great post Neely! I definitely think it's ok to meet people via the internet.
