Drama-Free Zone.

I typically do not wax all philosophical on this blog, and I despise having to make veiled remarks, so please cut me some slack as I talk "around" an issue.

But ladies, I just cannot take it any longer.  What is with all of the drama???

I like to think that everyone has been overly dramatic at one point or another in their lives.  My drama mama moments usually occur when my Facebook for iPhone app decides to flake out, or there is entirely too much traffic as I drive home from work.  Just ask my husband.  THAT drama, I feel, is totally acceptable in small doses.

But the talking behind each other's backs.  The judging of certain lifestyle choices.  And the lack of communication about how we truly feel.  Well, THAT, my friends, is completely unacceptable.  Especially when you're over the age of 16.

As women - hell, AS HUMANS - we should support one another.  Celebrate one another.  Give each other shoulders to cry on.  Give advice only when it is sought.  Understand that we all choose different paths in life and that is ok.  Be forthcoming about our feelings - if we're wronged, stand up for ourselves and have an adult conversation.  Stop trying to overanalyze why people act a certain way, and perhaps accept that someone's behavior isn't for us to always understand.  And accept the fact that certain decisions, like how we choose to spend our time, don't necessarily define us.

Please don't get me wrong.  I am not perfect, nor do I claim to be.  Yet some recent events have triggered a lot of thoughts about how people, and women in particular, treat one another, and I for one, have had enough.

So, save the drama for your mama, and enjoy the holiday season, my friends!

(Since this is more about me getting something off my chest, rather than seeking advice, I am going to close this post to comments.  Thank you for "listening"!)
