* Why are people STILL playing baseball in October? Apparently, it's not even the World Series yet, which means that we can expect several more weeks of this. Don't the players know that the fans get really cold?
* Why doesn't each sport just have a designated season? For instance, football can only be played between October and December. Baseball can be played from June to September. Basketball can have March through May. It would really make everyone's (ahem, women's) lives easier if these events didn't overlap.
* What's the deal with fantasy teams? I guess I don't understand the fun in following the actions of a player via computer. And honestly, I would just get really mad if my team lost and quit before the season ended.
* Why are so many teams named after animals? Why not jazz it up a bit? I once suggested "Sparkle Motion" for a fantasy football team. You can bet that was denied. A friend of mine at work has a fantasy team named "The Annexation of Puerto Rico". Can you IMAGINE the possibilities?
Don't get me wrong - I am not THAT much of a girlie girl that I don't follow sports - I've definitely seen my share of professional games. But I often order wine at the ball park and wonder why I can't get a mani/pedi while watching a baseball game. To each his own, I guess:)
Boy am I with you! The hubs played pro and while I wish I would have known him when he played so I could have seen it....just think about all the games I would have had to go to. Ah ha ha
ReplyDeletePro? WOW! What sport did he play?
ReplyDeleteI am with you on the overlapping. Why does baseball play 162 games? Why do they have to play the same team three times in a row? Why does it take seven games in the world series? Same with basketball playoffs. What I don't get most of all is why do we have to watch a football game with two teams you (significant other) don't care about because you 'have a fantasy guy going'? Do you really think Tom Brady is all "Get with it Tom. Jeremy is watching today. JEREMY. This is a big one. Don't screw up, HE's watching you."? I bet not.
