Layla: One Month Old!

So, I am a little late with this update, but better late than never, right?  Anyway, our little Layla is currently one month old!  I cannot believe how quickly these past few weeks have flown by.  Since I was AWFUL about documenting my "bumpdates", I want to make sure I document Layla's growth as consistently as possible so she can look back at these someday.

Layla is currently:  one month and nine days old

Weight: 9 lbs. 15 oz. (as of 12/10)

Height: 21.75 inches (as of 11/25)

Clothing:  It depends on the brand, but she is all over the map.  Some newborn sleepers still fit, although they are getting snug.  The 0-3 month range seems best, but she now fits into some 3 month clothes, too!

Nicknames:  I have NO idea how this started, but we call her our "little bean", which has also carried over into calling her "Layla Bean".  Honestly, this should have just been her middle name all along.

Health/Diet:  Layla is one healthy little lady, as far as we know!  She is a voracious eater, and receives breast milk for all feedings with the exception of one.  On some days, her last feeding is now Earth's Best formula.  We wanted to introduce her to a little bit in the event that we will need to supplement when I return to work.

Sleep:  We're still working on it, but Layla now seems to understand the difference between day and night.  We usually put her to sleep between 8:00-10:00.  She usually sleeps for 4-5 hours, gets up to eat once, and returns to sleep for another 3-4 hours.

Milestones:  Layla has started smiling & cooing, which we LOVE!  She is also fascinated by her hands.

Likes:  She LOVES her activity mat!  When she has gotten fussy, we've found that all we have to do is put her on the mat, and she's as happy as can be.  Seriously, she can lay on that thing for an hour.  She also loves lights!  Between our dining room light fixture and the Christmas tree, she is constantly fixated.  Layla also seems to love her car seat and riding in the car.

Dislikes:  Bath time is usually hit or miss with her.  For instance, she LOVED it this morning.  A few days ago, she cried.

Overall, we're so lucky to have a healthy, happy little baby.  She's usually very calm and only fusses when she's hungry or needs her diaper changed.  Layla changes from day to day, and we are constantly amazed by her:)
