28 Week Bumpdate!

Hi there!  So, let's be honest.  I thought I'd be SO on top of bump dates and bump photos and everything baby.  And in my "real life", I do think I am on top of all things baby.  Here, though, is a different story.  So, I apologize that these photos aren't super cute or artistic or creative.  It's just me.  And my bump.  What can I say?  I'm exhausted:)

I am currently:  28 weeks and 4 days

The baby is the size of: a small cabbage (approximately 17 in. and 2.9 pounds!)

Anything new this week? Let's see.  We took our first baby class at the hospital this weekend (Labor and Delivery) and I started school this week as well.  Also, my 28-week check-up was a success!  Baby girl is still active and doing well!

The Labor and Delivery class was awesome.  Admittedly, I was petrified at first.  But, our instructor was so knowledgeable and hilarious and by the end, I was crying and all "The human body is amazing!" every time we saw a live birth (via video) - which, I had never seen before in my 33 years on this earth.  Somehow, I missed that day in health class...

(Note:  The only other time I've really, really cried during this pregnancy?  Watching Holly Madison's birth special on E!.  I flipping LOST IT.  Clearly, childbirth is my hormonal trigger.)

Maternity clothes? Yes, but mostly just pants.  Is it weird that all of my workout clothes still fit?  Anyway, I saved a bunch of my maternity shopping for the return to school, and I'll snap some photos as the weeks progress!

(This is our bathroom.  I am happy to say that in one month, I will have FOUR BATHROOMS.  Seriously.  What am I going to do?!?!?!)

Stretch marks? Nope.  There are days when I think I see them, but then I realize it's lines from my clothes.  Although, can I be honest here?  If I get them, then so be it.  It's not like I walk around without a shirt on, and I certainly don't wear swimsuits enough.  Besides, it's human nature (and they are hereditary anyway).  I think there's more important things in life to freak out about:)

Movement?  YES!  This is one active little lady.  I love that I can actually see her kicks through my stomach and even my clothing at times.  She's also moving "up" my belly and getting bigger so I now feel her in different places.

Food cravings? (Same answer as four weeks ago!) None.  My appetite is pretty normal these days.  Plus, now that Mike is gluten-free, I'd say my diet is even better as a result - especially since he does all of the cooking:)

But, I still love fro-yo.

General symptoms? Not really.  I mean, I do get a little uncomfortable at night when I sleep on my right side due to sore hips, though I do try to stay on my left side, as recommended.   But other than that, and general fatigue, I still feel awesome.

Workouts?  Last week, I ran twice, went for a long walk (appx. 4.5 miles) and attended three Bar Method classes.  Thursday night's 5K was my last "run"...you can read about it here!

Gender prediction?  We know for sure that the baby is a little girl:)  And, I am happy to say we've narrowed the "name" list down to three!

So, yeah!  That's where we're at, folks!  We're into our third trimester, and I can't wait to meet the little lady bean:)

  1. You are so cute! I agree about the stretch marks. I got my first one on my stomach but it doesn't bother me. If I get them, I get them and it isn't the end of the world! I'm glad you're feeling pretty good overall!

  2. So cute! Isn't the movement so cool? The hubs would say our little girl was shapshifting (we were watching a lot of Fringe at the time) when we could see her shift from side to side... neat and crazy weird at the same time. Can't wait to hear the name choice!

  4. You are the most adorable pregnant woman! I also agree about stretch marks - I didn't get any until the very end and then BAM, it was a hot mess. But, what can you do? And I can't wait to hear the name! Have you said if you're going to reveal it early or wait till she comes?

Also, I'm dying at the thought of four bathrooms. FOUR BATHROOMS!!!

  8. Four bathrooms! That sounds fun until you realize you have to clean four bathrooms. Less fun. I didn't get stretch marks until after Evan was born. Weird, I know. The same thing happened to my sister too. No stretch marks, gave birth, stretch marks. They hung around for a few weeks but then disappeared. I can't see any evidence of them now. So, even if you get them, they might go away.

And I took all my bump photos in my work bathroom - so classy.

Are you going to have to start commuting into the city for work after the baby? Hopefully that's not too painful!

  11. Aww, still looking great!

I can't believe you are going to have 4 bathrooms! When we do finally get a new house, right now we have one bathroom, I want at least 1.5 baths but 2 would be great for when we have guests.
