I woke up this morning, snuggled underneath our down comforter, with the door to our balcony slightly open. With my warm PJ's and socks on, I realized that this was the perfect, crisp fall morning. As much as I enjoyed it, I knew I couldn't stay in bed forever. Yet, as I drove to work, it left me with such a warm feeling (are you gagging yet over this post?) because to me, it signaled the arrival of the holiday season - AND I LOVE ME SOME FREAKIN' HOLIDAYS. And so, here are:
The Top 5 Things I Am Looking Forward to This Holiday Season
Before I begin the list, a small disclaimer:
Of course I am excited about the usual things, like spending time with family and friends, eating lots of food, etc. But let's be honest - that's just plain boring (Sorry Dad, I still love you!).
5.) Holiday Movies (AHEM! "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1")

My friends and I have tickets for this Sunday in a RIDIC theater, with awesome fro yo, coffee drinks, and BACON POPCORN. Bacon + Ron Weasley = pure bliss.
4.) Waking up on Christmas morning with my husband and calling around to find an open Starbucks on our way to the 'burbs.

We did this last year, and decided it's going to become a tradition, because it's a very "us" thing to do. Despite the fact that I quit Starbucks a few months ago.
3.) Participating in a grab bag and watching everyone fight over the rules. (I'm sorry - but you should open the gift FIRST, then let the next person go! What's the point of passing around unopened gifts???)

Seriously, y'all. When you play by my rules, you can score amazing gifts, like the talking Napoleon Dynamite doll I received a few years ago...
2.) Attending a Phil Collins dance party.
2.) Attending a Phil Collins dance party.

Yes, Virginia, there IS a Santa Claus - and he comes in the form of a balding drummer.
1.) Putting up our Christmas tree - because it's pre-lit and tiny and will only take 10 minutes!

The hubs and I decided not to do it up all crazy style with trees and decorations until we have little bambinos running around.
So, tell me - what are YOU looking forward to this holiday season?
