What's NOT an epic fail, though, is my new car, which is almost four months old:) One of my favorite features is the XM Radio, in addition to the fact that I no longer am driving a car that looks like it belongs to a drug lord. And the best part of XM Radio??? "80's on 8" and "90's on 9".
Whatchutalkinbout, Willis?
I am talking about two stations that play REDONKULOUS music that constantly brings me back to my childhood. Color Me Badd, anyone???
And so, ladies and gentlemen, I bring you this Thursdays Top 5 list...
My Top 5 Favorite 90's Hits!
5. Nothing Compares 2 U - Sinead O'Connor ('90)
4. Hold On - Wilson Phillips ('90)
3. All 4 Love - Color Me Badd ('92)
OMG. Remember when Donna Martin stalked them at the hotel, and then saw her mom having an affair? But then Color Me Badd came to the Peach Pit, and all was well with the world.
2. Motownphilly - Boyz II Men ('91)
2. Motownphilly - Boyz II Men ('91)
1. What About Your Friends - TLC ('92)
Are you a child of the 80's and 90's? What songs do you remember???

ReplyDeletegosh i cannot even think of my favourite 80s and 90s...
I am dying over here because I went to the Color Me Badd concert in high school. I had totally forgotten about Donna and their appearance on 90210.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm with Alyssa, Hold On is for sure a belt out when driving song.
Your blast from the past made my morning.
love all your picks...esp the TLC one! :)
ReplyDeleteOh, yes! Such wonderful music nostalgia! I still listen to Motown Philly on my workout mix!
ReplyDeleteYES! I borrowed my cousin's car and she had XM... LOVE 80's on 8 and 90's on 9. Crazy awesome.
ReplyDeleteIts especially awesome cause they play songs you TOTALLY FORGOT EXISTED! The one's that aren't on every single 80's or 90's compilation cd.
And Color me Bad ROCKS!! (or sways)
:D
Remember Mr. Big? That brings me back to the 90s!
ReplyDeleteOkay I really need to download these! Totally takes me back!
ReplyDeleteThat's some great songs. I think the 90210 episode was just shown again here in Denmark a few weeks back.
ReplyDeleteOh Sinead O'Connor! Such a blast from the past.
ReplyDeleteWhat about Martika's Toy Soldiers? Or The Bangles "Walk like an Egyptian?" And Joy Ride by Roxette. Ahhh the 80s!
oh sinead. i could listen to that all day, darlin. ALLLLLL DAY!
ReplyDeleteLOVE it. Love it, love it, love it!! I had XM once upon a time, and I was totally a '90s on 9' girl.
ReplyDeleteDying over this post! 'Hold On' brings me back!
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure Dan and I blew out a speaker in my Jeep in a Wilson Philips sing-along.
ReplyDeleteGirl, that 90210 rerun was on the Soap Network today! I just watched it about an hour ago. LOL
ReplyDeleteAh, the 90s...those were the years.
what fantastic songs! you mind this hilarious but i mainly remember Michael Jackson, lol.
ReplyDeleteLove them all. Nothing compares 2u was the first video I remember seeing on MTV.
ReplyDeleteon NYE's hubs and I went to a dance party that was all the decades and the 90's was by far the best!
ReplyDeleteHahaha you totally brought me back! I'm an 80's girl all the way. 80's alternative :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
OH MY WORD.
ReplyDeleteWant to hear the saddest thing in the world? When I got my new car (around the same time as yours) they let me do a free 3 month subscription to XM. That just ended last week and we are trying to actually cut back finanacially so I couldn't subscribe.
WAH.
I have to say I preferred I want to sex you up over the one you mentioned but mainly because I was kinda whorish. I paired that with Do Me.
That 90's channel is the one they pipe into at my work place and serisouly everyday I hear, Will Smith's Getting Jiggy with it and Paula Cole's biggest hit. lol
ReplyDeleteoh my gosh the FLASHBACKS!!!!! gotta love the 90's. I'm pretty sure my bestie and I had dance numbers to atleast two of these hahah!
ReplyDeleteMeghan! I LOVE YOU TOO!
ReplyDeleteSo I'm here on your blog totally loving these songs you posted. We MUST hang if/when I make a trip to Chicago (or if you ever have a reason to be in southern Cali). All for Love?! OMG! I use to loooooove that song! And Hold On! I kept trying to remember this song the other day! TLC?! MOTOWN PHILLY?!?!?!? I was on my break today dancing in the backroom to that song!! Oh girl, you make me smile. :D
Please keep these posts coming! I love it. Geof has Sirius/XM in his car and those are two of my favorite stations.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a great list and these songs are favorites of mine as well. I remember my friends and I used to have a choreographed dance to Motown Philly (so dorky!).
It is so hard to pick my favorites, since there were many greats. As an adult I’m beginning to like Tears For Fears now better than I ever did as a kid.
OMG Meghan! This is amazing and I really think I need XM radio now. All of these choices are incredible, though I'd add Annie Lennox's "Walking on Broken Glass," Mr. Big's "To Be with You," Soul Asylum's "Runaway Train," and something by the Cranberries to the mix. :)
ReplyDeletedude--nothing compares to you! i totally remember that song.
ReplyDeletewhen i think about the 90s i have to think about boy bands. backstreet's back alright!
I love my satellite radio. I listen to Hits 1 and the two stations you mentioned. I heard TlC's Red Light Special the other day. Man, that took me back. Love all of these!
