It's no secret that my husband and I LOVE food. A large part of our honeymoon was based around visiting fantastic restaurants in San Francisco, Napa Valley and Las Vegas. Heck, we didn't even GAMBLE in Vegas - we ate our way through it. For his 30th birthday, he is requesting that I take him to one of the top restaurants in the country. So when we decided it would be fun to start a Dinner Club with our nearest and dearest friends, we were SET. EXCITED. READY TO GO.
The premise? That each member select a new restaurant every month. We all attend, and (you guessed it!)...EAT! Our first official meeting began at a hip new restaurant here in Chicago, 33 Club. The food was incredible - very contemporary and full of flavor. There also may or may not have been a little too much wine consumption. Our second gathering brought us to a quaint little Mexican joint, Chilam Balam, which apparently means "To new beginnings"...very appropriate for our group:)
Our third meeting was a little different and just as spectacular. Last night, two of our friends decided to invite the entire Dinner Club into their home and cook a delicious Thanksgiving dinner with a twist. While the turkey empanadas were TO DIE FOR, I couldn't get over the beautiful table:

How adorable is this table? Picture this table in a room full of friends, wine, laughter and great music. And lots of sleepy people after stuffing ourselves full of food!
Sigh. I just cannot WAIT for the holidays!
Love the dinner club idea, how fun! And the table settings - so lovely! May have to borrow this idea for Thanksgiving!
