Randomness.

As I sit here once again, desperately avoiding a pile of papers to grade, I have a few questions/musings about life in general. Feel free to weigh in with your thoughts as well...

* I was reading my friend Lisa's blog (so excited for the little one, btw!), and she mentioned she was having Braxton Hicks contractions. What are those, exactly? Was he a person? Was he a total asshole that some bitter woman named baby pains after him? I didn't realize that pregnancy came with contractions named after people, which leads me to believe that there are different types of contractions, which also leads me to believe that I want no part of that right now, thank you very much. So to Lisa and all you mommas out there, I salute you, because if I had pain named after a person, I'd cry...a LOT. Or maybe I would just think of a real asshole from my past and name my pain after him.

* I really don't enjoy skiing. Let me preface this by saying that I LOVED every minute of the weekend at Devil's Head because I was able to spend time with good friends. But I do not love flying down a bunny hill (yes, you read that correctly) at top speed, heading straight for the parking lot. But I do love reading "STORItelling" by Tori Spelling (isn't she so clever?). I have a newfound appreciation for her and her struggles. And I think we have a lot in common. Minus the babies. And being on "90210". And having millions of dollars. Oh, and the horrendous boob job.

* Wal-Mart is weird. Especially when its in central Wisconsin. The guy who checked me out in line happened to ask the girl in front of me what her name was (Rhonda), and where she went to school (she doesn't). Then he asked her if she dropped out (she did) and why (she has two kids). I thought this was all pretty forward for a Wal-Mart cashier. So when Rhonda left, I was all prepared for the onslaught, and then, BAM. Nothing. I don't think Scott the cashier thought I was very hot. I walked out feeling slightly disappointed, then I became disappointed in myself for being disappointed to begin with.

  1. Haha! I just saw this about Braxton-Hicks. I'm pretty sure that he was a MALE doctor and most likely an asshole. That made me smile! Thanks for the shout out to my blog!
